Information Technology

Overview

Our Technology function enables us to take our guests all over the world on our ships, as well as support all of the people at Carnival House and other remote locations. Enabling and supporting everything from guests booking their holidays, through brand websites and the contact centre, through to ensuring that on-board applications and the infrastructure that supports these operate across the globe.
Technology draws on a diverse mix of skills within Carnival House with teams in Project & Programme Delivery, Portfolio Management, Business Analysis, Applications & Data, Infrastructure & Networks, Service & Operations, Architecture and Security & Compliance.

Procurement and Supply Chain

Overview

Part of the Product and Commercial Services Team, our Procurement and Supply Chain function makes sure that the fleets and the business have everything they need, whenever and wherever they need it all around the world to give our guests an incredible experience and to support all of our business ambitions. We source and supply hundreds of millions of pounds of goods and services across Food, Technical, Marketing, IT, Ports and many other categories, driving value for money, innovation, quality and service throughout our supply chains while being custodians of Carnivals code of conduct with our suppliers.
Our teams span right across the whole business, sit at the heart of all our key categories and offer attractive career routes that see exceptional buyers and supply chain professionals getting to experience the huge breadth of experiences that Carnival UK has to offer. We also work closely with our sister brands around the world and leverage the unique scale of the carnival corporation with whom we represent half the worlds Cruise industry.

Guest Relations & Contact Centre

Overview

The Customer Contact Centre is the heart of what we do. With over 250 staff across Carnival House, we are the cornerstone of P&O Cruises and Cunard as well as our sister brands Princess Cruises and Holland America Line/Seabourn. Our roles include; Personal Cruise Advisor, Reservations Coordinator & Concierge. It is often the first place where our guests contact us, so high levels of service are really important. There are also many different support roles associated with our Contact Centre teams including; Accounting, Group Reservations, Air Sea Representatives, Guest Relations and Support, Product Helpdesk, CARE (looking after guests if there has been a problem on their holiday), Resource Planning and Communications.

Maritime is accountable for the proactive management of risk to ensure the safe operation of our fleet of 10 ships across the P&O and Cunard Brands. We do this by developing competent and motivated people, providing assets that are fit for purpose and delivering operational processes that meet the needs of the business. Maritime (CUK) encompasses health, environment, safety and security as well as the Nautical and Engineering expertise needed to safely deliver unforgettable holiday happiness to our guests.

 Overview

We have three separate marketing teams at Carnival House – P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises. Our marketing teams maximise opportunity for the businesses and to create focused, meaningful communications that help to grow existing audiences, as well as appealing to new ones, and to promote the brand both on board and ashore. We have specialists across advertising, CRM, brand, PR, digital, loyalty and the creative studio.

P&O Cruises marketing team focus on five core strategies with clear roles and media channels supported by content and word of mouth across the full guest journey. Their team motto is: “We sail others follow”

Cunard’s marketing team makes sure that their products are placed in the best possible way so that our audience (and future audience) sees our wonderful products. To be successful in Cunard’s Marketing function, you must have an incredible eye for detail, as well as a passion of the brand.

Princess Cruises’ marketing team consistently seek to innovate, and ensure the “World’s No 1 premium cruise brand” is supported with meaningful, authentic and personal content. You’ll need to have a true passion for travel and discovery, plus have what it takes to set us apart from other lines to deliver a unique “Princess Cruises experience” based on our shared purpose: To share our world, share our hearts and create lasting memories.

Revenue Management and Deployment

Overview

Our revenue management department manages the pricing of our products to make sure that the maximum revenue is obtained. The department also plans the destination and future itineraries of each of our ships, as well as managing our fly cruise offering and land products. This department is exceptionally commercial in nature and collaborates considerably with the wider business. Setting the strategy, vision and future for how the business will maximise revenues.

Sales

Overview

At Carnival House our sales teams specialise in building relationships, ensuring that our trade partners have the finest knowledge of our products. Our teams also manage sales communications, systems, and events to provide the best tools and support, ensuring that our travel trade partners are at the centre of all that we do. In addition to supporting travel agents, the sales team also provides support to a team of ship based sales managers and work with third parties to find new routes to market for our brands.

Corporate Shipbuilding

Overview

Our Corporate Shipbuilding function focuses on the design, development and build of all of the new ships for Carnival Corporation across the world, through our Design Engineers and Architects as well as Project Specialists. We have a presence in all the major shipyards where our ships are being built, supervising construction and ensuring quality standards. We work closely with each of the Brands that are part of the Carnival Corporation to deliver vessels that exceed guest expectations. Glasgow College of Nautical Studies is situated in the heart of Glasgow on the south bank of the River Clyde. Its famous School of Marine and Mechanical Engineering is dedicated to giving you the highest quality education and training available.

South Tyneside College, Newcastle

South Tyneside College is a National Centre of Vocational Excellence for Marine Engineering. In fact, it’s known all over the world for the quality of its maritime training, first-class teaching, extensive resources and on-site accommodation.

Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton

For over 60 years, Warsash Maritime Academy has provided first class training, consultancy and research to the international shipping and offshore oil industries. Part of Southampton Solent University, the Academy provides internationally recognised certification programmes for both deck and engineer officers from cadet level to master (captain) and chief engineer.

Fleetwood Nautical College, Fleetwood

Fleetwood Nautical College is widely recognised as one of the top nautical colleges in the country. That’s why it’s been designated as a National Beacon of Excellence and was recently re-accredited for the Charter Mark in recognition of the excellent service it provides.

National Maritime College of Ireland, Cork

We offer a route purely for cadets studying at the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI), based in Cork. This route is specially designed for deck, electro-technical, and engineer cadets studying either a Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science, or a Bachelor of Engineering in Marine & Plant Engineering.

Deck cadet

P&O Cruises offers a number of cadetship training programmes providing an exceptional gateway into the maritime industry. We support cadetships on both the HND (High National Diploma), Foundation Degree and the Scottish Diploma.

As a deck officer cadet, you’ll learn how to navigate by both traditional and modern means, supervise the crew at a variety of tasks, and ensure the overall safe operation of the ship.

Engineering cadet

P&O Cruises offers a number of cadetship training programmes providing an exceptional gateway into the maritime industry. We support cadetships on both the HND (High National Diploma), Foundation Degree and the Scottish Diploma.

As a marine engineer cadet, you will learn about the running and maintenance of the ship’s engine room and all of its mechanical equipment. You will need the ability to evaluate the problems arising in the complex high-tech world of a modern cruise ship, make prompt decisions and take effective corrective measures.

Electrotechnical cadet

P&O Cruises offers a number of cadetship training programmes providing an exceptional gateway into the maritime industry. This MNTB programme leads to the award of a Foundation Degree and MCA UK Certificate of Competency. We also support a HND (High National Diploma) programme for electro-technical cadetships.

As an electro-technical cadet you will learn about the running and maintenance of the ship’s electro-technical equipment. That includes everything related to the electrical generating plant, electronic/automated control systems, bridge navigational equipment and entertainment systems.
